Indian spices Brisbane
Namaste Indian Spice and Chaat is a tiny concealed treasure of a food store and Indian street meals eatery in a blink-and-you-miss it shopping strip along busy Vulture St in Woolloongabba.
While Namaste may not appear to be a lot from outside, it offers a key small verandah annexed to a single side of the store, in which consumers can remain and tuck into in some of the best price and a lot of genuine Indian road meals to be found anywhere in Brisbane.
Undoubtedly sitting completely under the corrugated perspex pergola roof and tucking into a substantial plate of freshly made Masala Dosa or tasty plate of Pav Bhaji (both coming in at really under $10) it is like you’ve found a little piece of India that for some reason got beamed up into the Gabba.
In addition on the menu are old-fashioned foods which can be tricky to find in Brisbane: a variety of Puri (Pani, Sev or Dahi), Bhel, Uttapam, Chole Bature, Samosa or Papari Chaat while Dosas come plain or Masala. As well as on vacations the selection expands to incorporate Fafda, Jalebi, Khaman, Khandvi, Patra and Ganthiya.
As well as the eatery, the small grocery store is a superb way to obtain products through the sub-continent – rice, preparing oil, ghee, frozen veggies, sweets. Pulses, atta and flour, frozen naan, roti and paratha and frozen goodies like tutti-frutti Kufti and frozen coconut chutney).
